Why I Chose the Name OceanStorm Publishing

When I set out to launch my own publishing company, I knew the name had to mean something. Not just to me, but to the stories I tell, the values I hold, and the readers I hope to reach. It had to be personal. Powerful. True. And so, OceanStorm Publishing was born—a name inspired by the middle names of my two daughters, and by everything they represent.

A Name with Heart

Yes, I’m a bit of a hippy—and I wear that badge with pride. I believe names carry energy, and this one holds an ocean’s worth of meaning. My daughters are constant sources of inspiration in my life; and their middle names became the compass guiding me toward a brand that blends imagination with impact, creativity with courage.

The ocean is vast, mysterious, and full of life—just like the best stories. It reminds me of the wonder and beauty that come from diving deep into the unknown. Like storytelling, the ocean hides treasures beneath the surface, waiting to be discovered. For me, Ocean represents creativity in its purest form: flowing, open, untamed. It invites exploration and rewards those who dare to go deep.

Storm: Power, Change, and Courage

Storms bring a very different kind of energy. They shake things up. They challenge us. They demand that we pay attention. Storms can be chaotic and even a little scary, but they are also cleansing. They clear the way for new growth. In this name, Storm symbolizes the boldness it takes to tell meaningful stories, especially in a noisy world. It’s about grit, transformation, and brave beginnings.

It’s about honouring the mysterious flow of creativity while embracing the thunderclaps of change. It’s about balance—just like life, and just like the daughters who inspired it all.
